Moving Abroad

Today I left my beautiful Paris and the place where Mama and I had lived and set sail for my new home in the equally as beautiful English countryside. I will be living with Mr Edward Rochester who I have already met and was very nice. He and Mama were very close, she had told me. When she was close to passing, she held me tight and whispered, "Trust Edward, he is your family". I still don't know what that means. Does it mean that he will be my new family? I don't honestly know.

The boat is creaky and sways side to side; if I had if I hadn't been so used to discomfort I would have had a very terrible time. I am planning to meet Edward at the docks and he will take me to my new home.

I am nervous for my arrival; this new place will be strange to me. Part of me wishes to be back with my dear Mama, but I know I must be brave.
